Military refers to the people of an organisation authorise by its nation to use force, usually including use of weapons, in defending its independence by repulsing actual or perceived threats. As an adjective the term military is used to specifically associate any concept or aspect that is used in reference to the military as an organisation. In this sense militaries often function as societies within societies, by having their own military communities, military economies, military education, military medicine and other aspects of a functioning civilian society.
